QuestionWhy do I need the Chime if I'm using an existing doorbell ? Thank you

- Answer I like to have the chime mainly for motion notifications. We have it set to wind chimes real soft just to let us know when there is motion because the doorbell doesn't ring for motion alerts. Alexa will also let you know when there is motion.

- Answer Yes. As long as you utilize the motion alert feature. You can also speak to them even if they don’t ring the doorbell

- Answer All Ring doorbells /cameras depend on a strong WiFi signal in order to work. If the WiFi signal is weak, your doorbell/Camera will be offline. "Events" are stored in the "cloud" for two months provided that you maintain a current subscription. First 30 days included. $ 30.00 per year thereafter. You can download "events" at any time to your phone, computer, tablet, etc. for long term archival. It does not "call" your phone. It notifies you of an "event" via a "pop up" to your phone, computer, tablet, etc.

- Answer My doorbell was sending "very good" power by simply booking up the doorbell and parts in the box. If your current doorbell doesn't supply enough power then you need to retire it or buy a new transformer. There are videos on YouTube showing how to rewire

- Answer Yes, they do charge for a cloud to store your videos, but they don't monitor. They offer a special for a year of service costing $30. The Ring pro is the better choice. I bought the lower priced one and returned it for the Pro.

- Answer The Ring app is setup to handle multiple Ring components. It will let you label which door (front or back) the doorbell is placed at and should therefore be able to handle two bells. The only catch would be the connection. Unless you already have a setup with two doorbells, then you probably only have a power line to the front doorbell. If there is not currently a bell at the back door, you would need to buy a model that has a battery pack like the Ring Video or Video 2. If the front door currently has a doorbell, you could purchase the Ring Pro or also the battery ones if you don't want to mess with an existing bell. As for your vacation home, if it has good wifi, you should be able to access that system from anywhere since the doorbell runs through wifi. Doesn't matter where you are.

You can use the Corner Kit to angle your Ring Video Doorbell towards your walkway, so you can improve your motion detection and get a better view of visitors coming to your door. - Answer The Ring Pro comes with 2 anchor plates option specially for situations like yours. One comes with a slight angle (like a door wedge) which you can turn around depending if you want Ring to point up or down. The other plate (which I used) is angled outwards which comes in handy when your doorbell wiring is perpendicular (90 degrees) and close to your door - the outward angle allows you to get a wider view of your front porch without half of the view being blocked by your door.

QuestionI'm very much interested in the Ring Pro with Chime bundle and noted that it included an Echo Dot. We already have several echos in the house and was wondering if we could upgrade the dot to a spot or show.

- Answer We just installed the Ring doorbell Pro with Chime. .. are extremely disappointed in how the audio and video lag and becomes choppy. Installation was quite simple. quality of video and audio are good IF they worked as described in all advertisements or in store. There's a few seconds delay with being able to communicate with anyone at the doorbell as well. We installed the CHIME as instructed, and have a strong RSSI 68 and have high internet speed. We use a Nighthawk router (new) and a Surfboard modem. Our internet check speeds are healthy! I've also ordered a NetGear extender to see if that will help, but it appears reviews are the same with this model.

QuestionThis appears to include just 1 doorbell. Are you able to add an additional doorbell (for additional cost) to cover the front & back doors? ...or do you have to complete a totally separate purchase to cover the second entrance?

- Answer If you purchase additional RING doorbells, they will connect to the same bell/chime, so YES, you can add multiple doorbells (either battery or wired). You will have to pay an additional fee for videos from each doorbell. ALSO, note from my review, that the videos do NOT have Date-Time Stamps.

- Answer Mine came with a flat bracket to mount flat against the wall, an angled bracket that will make the camera face to the left or right, and a 2nd angled bracket to make the camera look up or down. You'll be amazed at the panoramic view this camera has, I was.

- Answer Yes, I did ask them about installing ours and I think it was $99 or a little more. I installed it myself and was very easy install. Just make sure the breaker is off since the pro is hardwired. Works like a charm

- Answer I believe without cloud subscription, the only thing you get is live feed. Recordings are not available as there is not built-in storage.

Ring Protect Plus will allow you to record, download, playback, and email recordings of Ring videos.
