- Answer Google ring customer service and call them. They respond quickly and are SUPER helpful! The difference between the ring pro and the ring elite besides price is that the Elite connects via ethernet And that’s a more secure connection if your Wi-Fi goes out. It probably needs to be professionally installed whereas as a handy person can install the pro themselves. The other difference is a slight size difference and a difference in the looks. If you Google the question what is the difference between the ring pro and the ring elite doorbells you’ll get more details. As far as the different kinds of pro Ring doorbells,I think there’s only one kind. I have that one and it works really well. Very happy with it.

QuestionThe salesman at the store told us that this does not have to be wired to an existing doorbell that we could use it as battery operated only. I do not see anything listed for a battery operating only. Does this have to be wired to use?

- Answer No, the Doorbell Pro just work with wired power, but you can buy an power adapter for the Doorbell Pro and just plug it in inside the house, make a es mall hole in the wall and supply power through this to the Doorbell Pro. Or you can plug it in outside by the Doorbell (I think this is not good idea)

- Answer The Geek Squad (works with Best Buy) did the wiring installation for my front door camera. My house is located in Florida. They charged me about $80.00 if I am not mistaken. I believe it was a fair price.

- Answer No, it needs to go though Ring’s service. This camera is meant for anyone can set up. If you want something more custom, there are other options. But I wanted a setup and forget it kind of device and that’s what this is.

- Answer There are several Ring products that can/are battery operated. The battery charge lasts about 6 months and can easily be recharged.

- Answer You would need to install a Ring Video Doorbell Pro at each door. They can all connect to the Chime Pro. The other doors can continue to use the existing home door chime, unless it is bypassed.

QuestionI want to replace my existing doorbell which is connected to an intercom system. The plate is 6 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches wide. To replace with the Ring, is there a larger base plate you can purchase to cover the existing hole?

- Answer I went to Lowes and Home Depot to try to purchase the same 6.5" x 4.5" plate but to no avail. I ended up keeping the old intercom speaker in place and just installed the Ring Doorbell camera right next to it. Hopefully this helps!

- Answer The Ring Pro is for hard-wiring only (that's the difference between it and the other Ring doorbells). Therefore, there's no rechargeable battery option for this. If you want a rechargeable battery product, get the Ring doorbell 2.
