QuestionMy doorbell is to the left of my front door but faces to the side not out to sidewalk. With this in mind, will it work effectively given the person standing at front door has the Ring to the left facing his side. Will it work properly? Thanks

- Answer Mine (I just installed yesterday) is similar to that. About 2 feet in on the wall to the side of the door. I used the one angle piece and with the 180 view, it’s perfect. I can see all of the door and all the way to the sidewalk.

- Answer The chime in this bundle is a little older and not as updated as the new one that you have listed. The new one has more features and can also double as a Wi-Fi extender. That is the difference. Not a huge difference though.

- Answer 5ghz is supported but the connection needs to have a router very close by to achieve getting 5ghz consistently. It usually uses 2.4 ghz if the router is far away as it’s a more stable connection

QuestionI have a Nutone system which is 30 years old. The chime no longer works and there is a loud buzzing. I can turn off the buzzing and then the doorbell does not work. Can you set up a ring door bell with chime. I would not want videos stored.

- Answer The transformer on the nutone system will need to be replaced. Once replaced you can install the Ring Doorbell. The video Playback clips feature is a $3 per month investment which is free for the first 30 days. You do not need to activate this after the 30 days. You will still have the ability to view live video feeds.

- Answer I would not use an outdoor outlet. That could be easily unplugged and then your camera system would be compromised. Existing doorbell wiring or new indoor service is the way to go.

- Answer This model needs to run off of an old doorbell power supply or a new power service. This model has no battery. This model is screwed directly to the house (ideally) and is difficult to remove. That said, everything is removable with the proper amount of tools and time. Hopefully, the notification process will alert you to an attempted removal and let you act accordingly. Enjoy!!

QuestionHow is it secured to the door? I live in a decent neighborhood. But there's a lot of homeless and junkies on the streets these days. They've stolen stuff out of my car before. So I wouldn't put it past them to try to steal this off the door.

- Answer The door bell is screwed into the framing around the door. There is then a faceplate that covers these screws. The faceplate is secured by a screw that requires a special bit, so it’s not your typical screwdriver. In the event of a theft, ring has a procedure where they will replace the doorbell. It requires the filing of a police report and then submission of that report to ring.
