• You need a hon me Wi-Fi system to make this work properly. A smartphone is not enough.

• Yes, you can. Any Ring device can be setup from your smartphone. Open the App and click on setup device. Your smartphone will recognize the device. Just follow the prompts to set it up. You may also have to go to your smartphone settings to connect to the temporary Ring WiFi or your home WiFi.
