• If it's the Ring Pro, then yes, you have to wire it (the other Ring doorbell products use rechargeable batteries, so don't have to be hard-wired). Please read my review, though...in my opinion IT'S WORTH IT!! You then don't have to change batteries, or find out that your batteries died while you were away, rendering the product useless. I did this myself...the instructions are VERY good, and it's really not that hard. You will be happy you did this.
