• yes you can use just doorbell alone without anything else in the security system group

• Appsolultly this is meant to replace your existing doorbell button, not a security system.

• Yes it just plugs into the Ring App on your phone and then Echo devices without any home security system requirements.

• Yes, I have Comcast home security and the two are not tied together at all. Everything on the Ring goes to my cell phone.
