“Why does signal to tv go on and off? I was watching a movie from my Samsung Note II on my TV, there were moments during the movie when the signal was lost and the movie was paused. I had to get up and press play on my phone and the movie would play and TV would receive signal. I like the product but would like to see why this is happening before I return to store?”

cord might be faulty. you might want to return to bestbuy and exchange for another one.

If the video is pausing on your phone, then most likely that is what is causing the whole thing to freeze. Since this is just a cable, there should be no reason why it would be causing you phone to pause the movie.
