- Answer Yes, you'll need a computer to do most of the work. The hardware that comes in the box with the installation CD provides the interface between the analog VHS tape deck RCA plug connectors (red right channel audio, white left channel audio, yellow video link) and the digital USB connection to the computer.

- Answer Not with this software unless you have an old VHS camera and can record your movie off the screen. This is strictly VHS to CD or DVD.

- Answer Depends... If you have the convertor cartridge that allows the smaller VHS tapes to play in a regular VCR...then maybe..... Mine worked using it (Panasonic VHS Playpak)

- Answer I plugged my camcorder into the Roxio cord, and the other end of the Roxio cord plugged into my computer's USB. I then played the high 8 tapes on my camcorder and by utilizing the Roxio software I was able to burn my videos to CDs.

QuestionMy son-in-law used this software to transfer a movie I had recorded on VHS to DVD but it won't play on either of my DVD players, only on my computer. Why can't I get it to play on my DVD player as I don't want to have to watch it on my computer?

- Answer I only know Apple. As to the Roxio you can download all of the included apps. As to the CD/DVD they are relatively inexpensive add ons available at Best Buy. The apple add on cd only reads CDs. If you need to read DVD try the LG

- Answer Not sure exactly what you are asking. This product comes with both a capture device and the software to do the conversion from a tape device (analog) to your PC (digital). There are other software options that you can Google that will work with this capture device but not sure why you wouldn't use the software provided with this purchase.
