“Is stainless steel finish more durable than white plastic? My gas range seems to produce more heat than my Kenmore could tolerate and the plastic cracked on underside and door. The cost for stainless is more but I would gladly pay if the durability is higher. Is the ss just cosmetic?”

Samsung is committed to producing high quality products regardless of the finish, and recommends mounting the over the range microwaves under cabinets that are at least 30" above the cooktop. This means the bottom of the microwave would be at least 13-1/2" above the cooking surface. - Ms. Samsung
