- Answer Code for most states is a receptacle in the cabinet above it not a hard wire to a junction box. Most states, check yours but you can’t go wrong with the receptacle. You have to account for 1750 watts, which is the full draw possible on a 15a 110 outlet. This is mainly due to the heating element for the slim fry and convection strings. Obviously that’s highest setting possible max draw 1750 watts. The microwave function draws about 1000. I’d recommend a dedicated 20a circuit for this unit. Then you are covered no question ever. I’m in the process of running that wire myself.

- Answer Yes it does. It’s called a “slim fry.” I haven’t tried yet as I just had the unit installed. I did try the convection feature and love it. Convection is similar to the air fry. I highly recommend this appliance.

- Answer No it’s above range. There are no feet and you would block the vent intakes if you did that.

- Answer For me SLIM FRY IS AN EPIC FAIL. Here’s why… The preset options are strictly for store-bought frozen foods; heavily processed with unpronounceable additives. No thanks! If you prefer preparing your own dishes with fresh whole foods you are out of luck. There’s no way to set the time or temp of your choosing in slim-fry mode. I requested help from Samsung asking “what is the temp/time for each preset” so that I could determine what might work for my homemade versions (fresh not frozen) or to adapt the tons of healthy air-fry recipes available online or in cookbooks — and Samsung simply REFUSED to provide this info. As a result, you have 2 options: Get yourself a real air fryer (extra expense & takes up valuable counter space), or BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND of MICROWAVE WITH AIR-FRY that’s adjustable and provides user-friendly Customer Support. Samsung’s gimmicky “Slim-Fry” feature is useless if you can actually cook. However it’s ideal for kids & teens whose parents don’t care what they eat and want convenience over good health.

QuestionHow do you bake with this? My landlord installed it as an oven replacement, but the guide says to use no metal objects inside—I had assumed that, on convection mode, one could put in a cookie tray, but that seems forbidden. Has anyone used metal trays?

- Answer Excellent question, Monsters! The term "convection" simply means the unit uses fans to help circulate the heat, creating a more even temperature throughout the compartment. Because this model is a microwave it uses a magnetron to heat, instead of a heating element like ovens use. The magnetron uses magnetic energy to heat, and therefore can be dangerous around metal objects. For this reason, metal cannot be used with this model. - Answer Total wattage you need to account for is 1750. That’s as per the manual. Dedicated 20a circuit IMO. Place receptacle in cabinet above unit.

QuestionWhen I start a countdown timer, it simply ends up vanishing. Nobody opened the microwave, nobody hit a key. At some point the microwave simply shows time and the timer function was somehow killed anyway. Is this normal? Hard to believe no timer works?

QuestionIs there a way to use the microwave while the timer is running? Also, it would be good if the keypad was disabled when the door is open. Several times we have hit the Fan button accidentally while opening or closing the door.
