• Yes you have to remove something from the back and twist it i hired someone to do that

• Yes, the ME21F606MJT can be set up to vent externally through the back or top of the Microwave, or it can recirculate filtered air back into the room through the vent in front that's concealed from view. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung
