QuestionWhat exactly should the fast boil function provide? How fast is fast?I am on my 2nd range of this model. The first one took 12 minutes to boil 1 quart of water on the fast boil burner on the right side. On the left side, a 2 qt saucepan took also 12 minutes. Both times without a lid. Today I got my 2nd one. This time 15 minutes without a lid for a 2 qt saucepan on the right burner. And, 8 minutes for a 1 qt saucepan on the left burner - this time with a lid. That does not seem fast at all to me. When I called Samsung, they said water should boil in 2 minutes!! Is it possible I got 2 defective units?!?

- Answer Fast boil is a scam. Very frustrating, the element gets red & just when the water is about to boil the element goes black. Over & over. The back burners boil water more quickly

QuestionDoes the rapid boil element stay on high/redcoils when it is set the the highest possible position on the dial. Or does it cycle so not to overheat or overboil?

- Answer I hate this stove. The fast boil feature on the burners is out of control and ruined many a meal for me. Even on the LO setting, it goes to blazing and I cannot use the stove top to braise anything. Everything is evaporated and gets burned. Does anyone know of a way to turn off the fast boil feature and make it a regular burner? Also, the glass top scratches very easily. I had a KitchenAid stove for 15 years and never had any problems. I only replaced it because someone broke the glass on top. This Samsung one stinks.

QuestionIs there a trick to making a pot simmer on a "fast boil" plate? Even the lowest setting keeps it at a rolling boil and burns the bottom. The repair man said he couldn't fix it because that what fast boil plates do, is he correct ?

- Answer I have the same issue. The only place to simmer seems to be the back two burners and my big pots do not fit there.

- Answer Thanks for the question. I can't speak for your previous stove, but I can tell you that it isn't unusual for some of the surfaces of the NE597R0ABSR to feel hot, particularly areas around the door or at the back of the cooktop. When the oven is in use, these areas have vents that allow some of the heat from the oven or the space between the panes of glass in the door to escape. If the gasket around the door appears damaged, which could enable more heat to escape than normal, I would suggest contacting 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG for assistance determining whether service is advisable. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionWhat is the finish on the cooktop?I want to know whether the cooktop is a solid black, or if it has any kind of pattern.

- Answer Solid black that you can see through if you look closely enough with a silvery white rings for the burners. Once the burners heat up you can visibly see the burners if no pot on the top of stove.

- Answer Yes you can Jenny! Convection is selectable, it works off the principle of air being introduced to the cooking process. You can either turn on the convection or select standard old school cooking. Broiling is high heat and basically seals the outer layer of your entree. If convection is added to any type of baking the air is heated and circulated cooking whatever you may have faster and evenly. Carry on and Good Eats!

QuestionHandle on Warming DrawerI bought this model that includes the warming drawer with a handle. Unfortunately, the handle gets in the way of the dishwasher door when it is down. Can I swap out the warming drawer for just a regular storage drawer? Or do I have to return the whole oven and get a new one without the warming drawer? I hope to just swap out the drawers.

- Answer I use my warming drawer for storage. A suggestion regarding the handle,...maybe if you remove the handle you can over the screw holes with some type of decorative magnet? Maybe if you do a search on the internet, maybe you could find a magnet that would come close to the stainless finish. Just a thought. Good luck!
