Q: What exactly should the fast boil function provide? How fast is fast?
A: Fast boil is a scam. Very frustrating, the element gets red & just when the water is about to boil the element goes black. Over & over. The back burners boil water more quickly
A: I hate this stove. The fast boil feature on the burners is out of control and ruined many a meal for me. Even on the LO setting, it goes to blazing and I cannot use the stove top to braise anything. Everything is evaporated and gets burned. Does anyone know of a way to turn off the fast boil feature and make it a regular burner? Also, the glass top scratches very easily. I had a KitchenAid stove for 15 years and never had any problems. I only replaced it because someone broke the glass on top. This Samsung one stinks.
A: I have the same issue. The only place to simmer seems to be the back two burners and my big pots do not fit there.

I can't speak for your previous stove, but I can tell you that it isn't unusual for some of the surfaces of the NE597R0ABSR to feel hot, particularly areas around the door or at the back of the cooktop. When the oven is in use, these areas have vents that allow some of the heat from the oven or the space between the panes of glass in the door to escape. If the gasket around the door appears damaged, which could enable more heat to escape than normal, I would suggest contacting 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG for assistance determining whether service is advisable. - Ms. Samsung
Q: What is the finish on the cooktop?
A: Solid black that you can see through if you look closely enough with a silvery white rings for the burners. Once the burners heat up you can visibly see the burners if no pot on the top of stove.
