This refrigerator model has a built-in ice maker that cannot be removed. Placing food in the ice bucket space is also not recommended because doing so could damage the ice maker.
The freezer basket can be removed. Please refer to pages 73-74 of the manual link below for instructions.

A:AnswerOur fridge (same model) stopped cooling and freezing after 6 months. Samsung refused to replace unit after technician couldn't find issue and just flushed freon through it. Most expensive refrigerator we've ever purchased and lasted less than a year. Sorry I don't have better news.
