Q: QuestionI need a large 48 inch electric range or cooktop that runs on 110 volts
Asked by Cooktop.
- A:Answer Most electric or induction cooktops require two-pole 240 volt power on a 40 amp or greater rated circuit.

Q: QuestionLooking at my electrical service panel, it shows a double-pole 30 amp breaker for my cooktop. I see some are saying you need at least a double-pole 50 amp for this induction cooktop to fully work properly. Is this correct?
Asked by theklbass.
- A:Answer Best Buy’s product page lists this model as requiring a 45 amp circuit. I would ask an electrician to tell you what would be involved (rewiring, drywall work, a new breaker or dedicated circuit) if you are interested in such a cooktop. It could get pricey.

Q: Questionwhat kind of plug is needed for this cooktop ?
Asked by pink.
- A:Answer Hi Pink, This is very interesting. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We appreciate that you raised this question regarding the range. To properly install your cooktop, determine the type of electrical connection you will use and follow the instructions here. A 3-wire or 4-wire, single phase, 208 or 240 volt AC, 60-Hz, the power supply is required on a dedicated double pole circuit breaker of at least 40 amps for the 30" cooktop and of at least 45 amps for the 36" cooktop. This cooktop is manufactured with ground wire (bare or green) connected to the cooktop frame that connects the cooktop cable to the junction box through the UL-listed or CSA-approved conduit connector.
