“What is the stacked Height with stacking kit My washer and dryer closet has a door that is 80 inches high, 35 inches wide, with closet depth 38 inches. I bought the washer and gas dryer and had it delivered to my house. When Best Buy delivered the washer and dryer, they said that there was not vertical clearance to install. How much clearance do you need to install the washer and dryer stacked with the stacking kit? Note: the closet door height is 80 inches, but the ceiling height is 8 ft.”

Hi Justin, The stacked height of the WF42H5400AF and matching Dryer is 77-1/2", and Samsung recommends leaving 6" above the units for ease of installation as well as air circulation. It's important to have sufficient room above the units in order to lift the Dryer on top of the Washer to stack them, as well as space on the sides to maneuver the units into place. In addition, the clearance requirement for depth when installing the units in an enclosed area like an alcove or closet is approximately 41". I would suggest referring to the specifications sheet or installation section of the User Manuals, which can be downloaded as pdf files from Samsung's website, for additional clearance requirements for closets.
