      Answer

The standard cycle is just over an hour. But if you use the 'quick wash' it's just about 30 minutes. We have found that the quick wash works great for your average load of wash. They come out clean and smelling great.

Small vs large load settings?   (6 Answers)

I was washing a load last weekend and the drum had a lot of room left, I realized I could put a larger load in this than my last washer. Is there a setting for small vs large loads so that it puts in less water when doing a smaller load? I am not sure if it just automatically adjusts based on the weight of the clothces inside or if it is an actual setting.

          Answer

The reason the machine rolls the drum around a few times before it starts to add water is because it's weighing the clothes. It fills based on the weight.,

why does washer not fill up more than initial fill amount on "normal" cycle?   (3 Answers)

Under "rinse and spin" option the machine fills up to initial fill level and then "full" level as shown in trouble shooting section on Samsung website. Does not do this when selecting "normal" wash on dial (using same temp and spin options, normal soil level). Only fills up to initial level on normal wash - not enough water to clean clothes. Suspected this when washing first two loads - did not look like enough water in use. Then ran empty load under both of these load options - "rinse and spin" vs "normal" and noticed washer behaving differently, even for empty load. Why is this?

            Answer

Thanks for the question. It isn't unusual for the Washer to fill with different amounts of water when different cycles or options are selected, and the automatic weight sensor also helps determine how much water will be added. It's likely that the conditions you're trying to imitate with the different settings will behave differently with clothes in the Washer than with an empty drum. Also, in a Normal cycle, the initial fill is not representative of the amount of water used for the full wash. The nature of HE front loaders is to saturate the clothes in a mixture of soap and water and tumble them, but not to immerse them, and more water is added at different points in the cycle based on the selected options, soil level, and number of rinses needed. I hope this helps to answer you're question. If you find that there isn't enough water to saturate the clothes and they aren't coming clean, please make sure the hot and cold water valves are turned on all the way, the supply hoses are unkinked and there are no obstructions in the hoses or in the inlet hose screens on the back of the washer. If this doesn't help to resolve the issue, please contact Samsung directly through the online support form or by calling 800-SAMSUNG. - Ms. Samsung

You can use either one. But if you use powder the liquid tray insert needs to be removed. Also if you use Tide Pods, they get thrown right into the washer. There's also trays for softener or bleach.

Can the door be flipped   (5 Answers)

I just bought this combo last weekend and t is yet to be delivered. I noticed the door can be flipped on the dryer to suit the laundry room but I don't see that listed for the washer. I am replacing a combo that opened on a different side than this does in the picture and I hope the washer door can also be flipped to open to the right and the dryer to the left.

                Answer

Like most front load washers, the door on the WF42H5200AP opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible, so it can open in the opposite direction to the washer when set up side by side, or in the same direction if the units are stacked. If the hoses that come with the washer are not long enough to enable the washer and dryer to be switched so the washer is on the left, I would suggest checking with your local Best Buy Appliance or Installation Team for information and availability of extension hoses. Thanks for your interest in the WF42H5200AW. This model is CEE Tier 1 and Energy Star-rated, using only 95 kWh/yr of electricity based on Energy Star's testing standards. It has an MEF (Modified Energy Factor) of 3.2 and a WF (Water Factor) of 2.9. The WF42H5200AW uses approximately 13-15 gallons of water per cycle, depending on the weight of the load and the cycle and options selected. - Ms. Samsung
