A:Answer This happens to me sometimes, too! I wonder if it's an accumulation of dust, because I leave the lid open between washes almost all of the time (to keep mold from growing). Or it might be detergent residue from somewhere you can't see? (Like flakes or gloves that get freed up during the cycle and then are floating around in the water.
Whatever it's from, it seems like it would something floating in the water--the stuff on mine is always in a very thin, straight line. Like it got stuck in one of the creases of the clothes when they were spinning.
Seems to happen less often when I run the self-clean cycle regularly, though. (Also, I don't know if there's recommendations AGAINST it by Samsung, but I like to run the self-clean with vinegar. I do a heavy pour into the washer, start the self-clean cycle and let it fill up a little, pause the cycle and let it sit for 15-30 minutes or so, then resume the cycle. I started doing this because I have really hard water where I live, and it might be my imagination, but I feel like this cleans better since I started doing this.)
