Yes, and I personally do not like it. I use my old Samsung tv remote instead.

I only has th following buttons: Vol + / - Ch + / - Up down left right enter Source Menu Exit Play/Pause Extra power mute Everything else is access through an on screen menu, by useing: Up Down Left Enter Buttons Cursor that you guide with moving the remote or your voice (yes pretty cool) Although, guiding the on screen prompts by moving the remote is tiring and a bit klunky; my hand got tired pretty quickly, so I perfer just to use the up/down/left/right/enter buttons to make selections and other input
