The channels indicate the number of speakers in the system. In a 4.1 channel soundbar system, front left and front right are contained in the soundbar. the .1 indicates theres a subwoofer, while the other 2 are for the surround left and surround right. Most soundbar systems are just that, and only the soundbar, while alot have the subwoofer as well. Just soundbar = 2.0 channel system Soundbar + Subwoofer = 2.1 channel system. etc. Hope this helped.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Each channel is basically a speaker. 4 channels= 4 speakers. The .1 is the sub woofer. So 4.1 is a left, right, 2 center, and 1 sub.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe the channels references the number of external speakers that can be added to the soundbar system. My 4.1 Channel system includes (1) the soundbar; (2) the bass speaker (3) and 2 mini speakers. I believe the number of speakers in all is what affects the wattage and how much sound and volume you get.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's my understanding that the different channels are for individual frequencies so you can fine tune the frequencies to match your hearing.
