• The oven light goes on when the door is opened and shuts of when the door is closed. There is a switch on the numeric keypad to the right of the zero which when pressed turns the light on or off. When the light is on, if the door is then opened and closed, the light turns off.

• You can manually control the oven light with a switch, so you can have the light on with the door closed if you wish.

• Hi Barb, The oven light will remain on for a short time after the oven door is closed, then should turn off automatically. You can also turn it on and off by pressing the button on the control panel. Thanks for the question, Ms. Samsung
