“Can another remote be used with this TV I have heard multiple complaints on the new remote for this series of Samsung TV's. Can a universal remote be used? Or another type of Samsung Smart Remote? Can I still use my Verizon Fios HD Receiver remote with this TV and control channels through the cable box? I don't want to have to go through multiple steps each time I want to watch regular cable TV. Would be great if anyone has any input or tips on remote usage. My husband is not "high tech" so I need something he can operate if I am not home.”

• Hi I'm using Samsung Smart Touch BN59-01185F with this TV and its working flawlessly , the remote that came with it is a bit basic one but the BN59-01185F has all the needed button available , got it from eBay for $20 has a small touch pad

• I was easily able to make my Comcast xfinity remote work with the TV so I assume others would work as well. I used 1st Samsung code on Comcast's list of several codes and it set up without a hitch. This is the newer black and gray controller.

• Hello I still use my fios remote u will have to program it to be able to turn it off and on and for sound the only thing u will need the remote for the tv is for the menu options like to change color ur sound input turn on 3D and the main part of a smart tv is the apps other then that ur good. Hope u enjoy the tv :)

• Yes, you can use your Verizon remote. It's the primary remote that we use with this TV for channels, volume, etc., and it works just fine.

• I don't know about Verizon Remote, but the Comcast remote works fine. My only remote disappointment, is that the Samsung universal will not also work the samsung sound bar and sub woofer - actually neither does the Comcast remote
