• Yes, I believe so. Geek squad set up my system for me. Don't think they used an HDMI cable from TV to receiver, just regular AV cable.

• Yes, provided that your receiver also has the ARC - Audio Return Channel - feature for an HDMI input. The HDMI-2 port on the Samsung television has the HDMI-ARC option. Thanks for your interest in Samsung televisions. --Mr. Samsung
