Soundbar does make the experience a lot nicer. I have no problems with the solar remote at all The room lights are enough to charge it.

While a soundbar is not necessary, it is recommended to add one for an enhanced audio experience. The included Solar Cell Remote can be charged by using the solar cell or the USB-C port on the bottom of the remote. You can charge the solar cell by leaving the back of the remote facing up. It will charge with either sunlight or ambient/indoor light. If you use the USB-C port, a red light will let you know that it is charging. The USB-C cable is not included. ^Gina
