“The detail in the shadows on my new Samsung 65” S95B TV is nonexistent. Shadows are very dark with no detail which is visible when playing on other TVs or iPads. Is there a setting to bring out shadow detail?”

What version software do you have? Go to Settings>Support>Software Updates and it will tell you what your running. Also on this TV there are 4 different Picture Modes. Dynamic-Standard-Movie-Filmmaker. My software is version 1503. If yours is older....a lower number Go to Update Software. I run my 1503 in Standard for most all programs and go to Dynamic for movies only. The Movie and Filmmaker are dark and can be tweaked from what I've seen on YouTube but I dont need them cause the first two work fine for me. Lastly the Dynamic is Really bright and looks good but I have been told not to run it all the time because it can cause burn in. If what I just told you is redundant . So be it. Just tring to help. And if you have an external device such as Apple TV , Roku ..you can get into game mode( haven’t been able to game mode without external device). .Dynamic black Equalizer Turning this setting up helps as well.
