  • QuestionIs this model a part of the previous recall for Top Loading Samsung Washers?

    Asked by jimmydean.

    • Answer No. Those models were lasts years and either retrofitted for safety or removed from the sales floor altogether or both. These current models (washer/dryer) work beautifully, easily, quietly, and thoroughly. I am so pleased and look forward to years of enjoyment, not just function, with this Samsung combination!

  • Questioni am looking to purchase this for a child care, but have limited exterior walls. Can this be vented out the side of the dryer and what is the maximum distance I can go for venting effectively?

    Asked by Batman1.

    • Answer (DV40J3000EW) Hello there Batman1! This model can be side-vented using the DV-2A/XAA vent kit. All dryers must be exhausted to the outside. The required exhaust duct is 4 inches (10.2 cm) in diameter. Use only those foil-type flexible ducts, if any, specifically identified for use with the appliance by the manufacturer and that comply with the Outline for Clothes Dryer Transition Duct, Subject 2158A shall be used. See “Ducting Requirements” in installing your dryer section for the maximum duct length and number of bends shall be used. The total length of flexible metal duct shall not exceed 2.4 m. Do not assemble the duct with screws or other fastening means that extend into the duct and catch lint. The hood should have at least 12 inches (30.5 cm) of clearance between the bottom of the hood and the ground or other obstruction. The hood opening should point down.
