A:AnswerConnection to water is totally optional. Your choice. I did connect to water, it comes with everything needed. So glad I did as I love the refresh feature.
A:AnswerI found the solution finally! After over a year of having this dryer I finally got around to finding the problem. When I lifted up the dryer there was a thin metal circle shaped panel that was held on by a screw, This does not appear to cover any holes at all it just rotates and pivots in a circular motion around the screw. In all honesty I have no idea why this piece is even on there. I ran the dryer, lifted it up and rotated this piece of metal around as it was vibrating and jiggling, rotated it until it stopped rattling, set the dryer back on the floor and no problem is solved! Literally it was something so stupid I could have solved it over a year ago I kept moving the dryer around and looking for lose parts but it was just a piece of metal on the bottom that seems to serve no purpose but to rotate around on a screw. Problem now solved! So If you have one of these dryers and you get the rattle of metal when running it, try to lift the unit up and check underneath for any lose metal pieces.
A:AnswerSamsung told me the dryer sheets are fine on any cycle that is not sensor dry or that uses steam. So you can use them on timed dry and quick dry.
A:AnswerHi Curious,
Yes, the DV42H5200EP Electric Dryer can be vented out the left or right side or through the bottom. It comes ready to vent out the back, but can be converted to side or bottom venting using the DV-1A side vent kit.

A:AnswerUnfortunately it is not energy star. That said, dryers with energy star, unless they are specifically HEAT PUMP dryers, are only nominally more efficient (in my research). My wife was only wanting to purchase energy star until I produced data showing it only saved a few cents a load (about 8% less energy). Again, per my research.
A:AnswerFor both washer and dryer, all you need is both hot and cold water faucets along
with "Y" type spitter, which comes with either dryer or washer.
A:AnswerThe center line of the vent on the back of the DV42H5200EP, when facing the back of the machine, is 12" from the left side, 15" from the right side, and 4" from the bottom.

A:AnswerMore than likely your dryer is not venting to the outside of the house. The vent ducting is probably clogged causing the air to back up into the room or a joint has come loose.
A:AnswerWhen I use the low temp setting, I don't need sensor dry feature. I don't want to dry the item all the way through anyway and I'm typically going to hang the item to dry the rest of the way.
