“I measured about 38" depth from the baseboard trim to the front of the laundry closet, is 5" enough space to fit the venting connections? Also, will BestBuy install it for me and if there is a problem, can it be returned?”

I had similar questions before purchasing my new set. I scheduled an appointment with Best Buy for a consultation so I would be certain I was ordering proper sized machines for my laundry space. I would recommend that to you as well.
