Wash basket does not get in the way when loading clothes but you might hit your head when taking clothes out of machine. Once you get used to it you can avoid hitting your head. Basket clicks into place onto the lid so you do not have to hold it up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, it rests well above the biggest load you could stuff in the machine and there's plenty of clearance for moving laundry in and out. You can open the lid to expose the Active Wash basket for use, or you can open the lid and the basket together as a unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It snaps into the lid so is out of the way. Unfortunately I can't figure out how it works so haven't used it. I am very disappointed in this machine. Doesn't fill enough to get my clothes clean.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bumped it at first but now I'm used to it. Its not in the way. It latches to the lid so as long as you don't press the latch it goes up with the lid.
