This can be used on older televisions, although if it's connected to a standard definition TV, it will only show a standard definition resolution. There is not a co-ax connection, but there is a composite (yellow video) connection, as well as component (red blue green) and HDMI input. If you need further connection information, you might also check with your local Best Buy Geek Squad Agent to see if they can assist further with purchasing the right player, and seeing if it will work with your current television.
