- Answer It's not a portable charger. It plugs into the wall and sits on the table. All you do is lay your device on top of it instead of plugging it in. It wirelessly charges your compatible device.

Questionhow much faster is this charger than the regular?I know this is a "fast charge" but how much different in terms of total time for a complete charge? how else is this different than the wireless charger?

- Answer If it takes you 2 hours to charge your phone using a regular wall charge it would only take you 45 minutes to charge using this one it's a great product and I love how handy it is

- Answer "The Samsung Wireless Charging Pad is Qi certified by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and is compatible with all Qi-enabled devices, including from Samsung: Galaxy S 5, Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 3 (these Galaxy smartphones require Wireless Charging Battery Covers, sold separately) as well as the Galaxy S7, S7 edge, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note5, which do not require additional charging battery doors. The Fast Charge feature is compatible with only Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S7 , S7 edge, S6 edge+ models."

- Answer Unfortunately this is invented for the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S 6 Edge Plus. The wireless charging feature of this would work with the Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 Edge, but the fast charging part is for the later devices. So no the S 5 is not compatible with this product.

- Answer I also have an Otterbox cover on my phone. I can only speak for me, but, my phone charges with the case on just fine. My Otterbox cover however, does not have the thick rubber and plastic layers, just the heavy plastic layer

- Answer Danielw5536, A standard 2.0 usb port of a laptop, for example, is limited to a given amount of electrical flow or amperage. It was not designed to put out what the Samsung "Fast Charge" charger is designed to provide. The wall outlet is protected by a 15 or 20 Amp circuit breaker. This is like tapping into a river versus a small country stream. Huge difference in the amount of flow, in your case, electrons flowing through the wires. Make sure you are connecting a Samsung phone designed for "Fast Charging". Otherwise the charger will sense this & will charge the phone at the slower, standard rate so as not to damage your phone. Happy charging!
