Q: Questiondo you need to have your phone with you to make phone calls and texts?

• A:Answer You will need to have you phone nearby to send text from the watch, but you can only answer or decline calls. Answered calls are sent to your phone or ear buds to continue the call( i.e.- you can not answer a call and talk to your watch like the Apple watch, but mostly everything else is similar.).

You cannot make or answer calls directly on your watch unless it has a built-in mic and speaker like the Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Watch, and Gear S3. However, you can quickly view incoming messages and send replies without even taking out your phone. ^Elizabeth

I didn't purchase Geek squad because Samsung gives you a 1yr warranty (but I have to check that out, because on their website it's telling me 6 months now). But if you either go on Geek Squad page or call them, they'll be able to assist you
