That is a great question! The LTE version of the Galaxy Watch4 allows you to connect service through your carrier to be able to use all functions of the device, (calls, text, etc.) without your phone being present. The Bluetooth version requires your phone to be near for it to remain fully functional. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. ^Kayla
