• No it does not count steps when driving only when walking, running or doing stairs

• Haven't had that happen that I know of, but since it is a movement sensor it is possible it could happen.

• Mine didn't, I think it tracks your speed and realizes that you are most likely driving

• I have not had any issues with mine counting steps while I've been driving.
