“Is it waterproof so I can wear it swimming? My wife enjoys swimming laps, but she is also semi-addicted to her smartphone. Will this watch be waterproof enough to allow her to wear it while swimming laps in the pool without damaging the watch? Will it stay connected to her cell phone if she is 40 feet from the phone?”

The product says it is IP68 Rated. Look up IP68. The 6 means dustproof and the 8 means Immersion beyond 1m. So it appears they built it to be waterproof even though they do not specifically say its waterproof. http://www.dsmt.com/resources/ip-rating-chart/
