“Do refurbished drives carry the same warranty from Samsung that come with the original? (I believe it's 5 years for the 850 EVO)”

I purchased a different model Samsung SSD from Best Buy that was refurbished. It had exactly the same warranty and a new one.

No, they are shorter and varies by the model as some models have 3yr, 5yr or 10yr for new and then they have 2yr, 3yr or 5yr for refurbished models.

To answer your question, the answer is yes. A refurbished SSD from Best Buy is same as new, and comes with a 5 year warranty from Samsung. YOou must register it at Samsung.com
