Is this an external ssd or internal ssd? null

This is meant to be internal. It will directly replace a laptop hard drive. It can be used in a desktop with an adapter to fit iot to a 3.5" bay. It could be put into an external case and used externally as well.

Internal. Make sure it's the right size for your laptop, though. Some use funny form factors or don't easily mount an SSD where an HDD resides. My Acer E575 won't fit it well, so I have to buy M.2 for example.
