If your SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD appears full despite having no content, it may need to be reformatted, especially if it’s using a file system that is not fully compatible with your operating system. First, check for data backup, as formatting is a data-destructive process. However, if it is genuinely empty and still not functioning, formatting it according to your operating system may help resolve the issue. For Windows PCs, use NTFS for formatting. You can connect the drive to the computer and start transferring the data using drag and drop or copy/paste method. You do not require any special driver, firmware update or software to use the drive on computer. Our drives use the native drivers of the host device.
