• This should be a direct replacement. If possible, create an image of your existing drive and change your boot options to the drive where the image will be before you change it.

• The one offered at Best Buy is 9.5 mm in thickness. Seagate offers offers this drive in tree sizes 5, 7 and 9.5mm. You need to check the size of your old drive.

• Yes it can be replaced with the terabyte hard drive. It will run faster.
