        Under "Features", I saw the following: Precision charger Allows 12-17 minutes of run time per 4-hour charge. Not sure a 4-hour charge is a complete one, but this tells me a lot about the intended use of this product.

        Seems like a stupid question, but how will I know when the battery needs replacing? I'm thinking the battery does need to be replaced because the unit doesn't seem to be running as long as when I first got it.   (1 Answer)

          DocStudent, Thanks for asking. The Shark - Navigator Freestyle Vacuum will just not be able to hold a full charge, which could be an indication that the battery would require replacing. Best Regards, Customer Support Team

            Glenfin, The Shark - Navigator Freestyle Vacuum will Charge the vacuum for 7 hours before initial use. After initial use, each recharge will take 4 to 7 hours. A complete oval around the power button will illuminate when the charge is complete. At this point the unit can be stored in your closet if you so choose. Best Regards, Customer Support Team

                  hard to tell because I always left it charged...once when I took it off it had about a 15 minute charge time so always kept it charging so I wouldn't run into the problem of only being able to vacuum half the room
