- Answer Any hdmi cable that mention “ARC” capable with work up to many many feets . If your sources are 4k , them get them ARC 4k capable and you will be ok .

QuestionI added a Sonos beam system to my Samsung tv using the hdmi arc port. My Sony dvd player is in the HDMI 1 port. When I try to use the dvd player the screen only shows sonos pictures. The dvd won’t play on the screen. Sonos has hijacked all the ports.

- Answer Double check that your ARC port has your Sonos Beam HDMI cable plugged in to it and your DVD player is in HDMI 1. If the cables are correct, you may need to adjust your settings via your tv input.

QuestionI have a 55" Samsung TV. Most sound bars are too thick or high to sit in front of my TV because they cover the eye that's needed to turn TV on, off, volumn and channel changes. My TV sits almost 2" from table top. How thick or high is this sound bar?

- Answer Thanks for your question. The Sonos Beam height is 2.72 inches. The Beam has an IR receiver, but not an IR repeater. Some commands that are received over IR will be sent back to the TV over CEC, assuming you're connected with HDMI-ARC and you have the TV's CEC enabled. You may need to boost the TV up if the commands you're needing don't pass through, or you're connected using the optical connection.

Questionwhy do you get locked out of using this device if you dont give it full location permission, why does a speaker need that info to work at all, doesnt that reek of privacy invasion?

- Answer It is definitely an invasion of privacy, and even worse than that it is another example of a company that feels it is acceptable to sell you a product and then continue to insert itself in how you use a product that you “own.” The only purpose is to gather data about you, which they then sell to a third party company, which the typically uses it for very unsavory purposes.
