Hi there! The XBR49X800D features the TRILUMINOS display feature which expands the range of colors you see on screen. ~Ralph
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Also found the power usage of the 800 is significantly lower and side LED improves wide angle view. Case is also thinner, and it is the newer model
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Without getting too technical, although the XBR49X700D displays a great picture with beautiful color, the XBR49X800D produces slightly more vibrant colors due to the Triluminos Display versus the direct lit display of the "700D". The XBR49X700D will need a Filmware update to equal the HDR of the "800", but that should be done at start-up anyway. Since the XBR49X800D comes with a remote with voice control built in and the XBR49X700D does not, the $50 cost difference tends to balance out, so anyone planning to purchase a remote with voice control would probably do well to purchase the "800D", whereas the more cost conscious person who is not exceptionally concerned about the very slight difference is display color brightness, which by the way, can not be noticed on most movies at this time, would be best served by the "700D". Both are excellent TVs and at a reasonable price considering the quality. This information is based on my research and observations and should not the only source of any individual's purchasing decision. Hope this is helpful.
