Hi Goose, That's a great question! The Sony - BRAVIA XR8B is very similar to the BRAVIA 8 (XR80) in terms of panel technology, as both models feature OLED displays for excellent color, contrast, and viewing angles. The main differences are that the BRAVIA XR8B does not include the Sony Pictures Core streaming package, and it does not have the XR Contrast Booster feature found on the BRAVIA 8.
