Xr8b picture quality is below the Bravia 8

Bravia xr8b lacks tri luminous and contrast booster making the xr8b noticeably darker

Amazing tv

My flagship tv up to this point is a warranty replacement of my Samsung 55" OLED from 2019. Not a bad tv at all, I didn't like situation of how I got it with the tv I purchased and owning for less than 2 years going out on me. The Sony tv by far has a much better viewing and sound experience. After reading about the differences between this model and the top model, I can see that the blacks are slightly pixelated but I have no problem living with that. I mounted this tv in my bedroom and have not looked back at all. Just wondering which sony model will be my new flagship model in the basement...

The sound is amazing for just the tv alone. The quality of the picture is also amazing. Only caveat it doesn't go as bright as my LG G1 oled but its mostly going to be our bedroom tv so its always dark.

Great bang for the buck

Needed a new one for the bedroom to replace the old 720p Plasma Insignia we've had for 20 years. Didn't want to go with LED or anything with a low refresh rate. When you are used to Plasma smoothness and black levels, even the decent LEDs are terrible. And the motion jitter make my wife nauseous. The Sony OLEDs are amazing TVs. Love the quality, color, black levels, etc. This one was a great price point, especially for a bedroom TV that was not the main living room TV. Good sound too! Would highly recommend.

Only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the remote did not have backlighting like other Sony OLED TVs. I purchased a factory replacement with the backlighting and it works like it should.

Excellent blacks, great color and good brightness for my setting. If you are watching in a very sunny room with many windows it may not be bright enough but that is not an issue for my situation. The included smart tv and app functions are so good that i did not reconnect my google tv 4k box as the built in functions are just as good.

Get a Sony A75L Instead

Nice bang for your buck! This is my first oled, and I am so excited! I've been buying sony since the old Wega Trinitron days. Seeing is believing! You can see the difference with the Dolby Vision and standard. I know I know what you're thinking. I might be biased but hey... "Picture me rolling!!....Big Syke, Nook, Hank....All Eyes on Me!
