Thank you for contacting Sony, Krishna. The ability of a TV to work with 240V depends entirely on the specific regional version you purchase. Models sold in regions like India, Europe, or other 220V–240V countries are designed to operate within the AC 220V–240V range and will work directly. Models sold in the USA/Canada are often designed to primarily operate on AC 120V power. While some specific models may be labeled for 110V–240V operation, we always strongly recommend checking the label on the back of your specific TV unit near the power cord input. To ensure safety and proper operation in India (which uses 220V to 240V): Look for the "Power Requirements" or "AC Input" specifications on the sticker on the back of your K-55XR8B. If the label says AC 100V–240V, it is dual-voltage compatible and will work with a simple plug adapter. If the label only says AC 120V, you must use a high-quality step-down transformer to avoid damaging the TV. Additionally, please be aware that TVs purchased outside of India may have limitations regarding regional features like the local DTV tuner standard (broadcasting) and the warranty, which is usually only valid in the country of purchase.
