It's true there is extremely limited 4K available at this time. But you know it is coming. So be ready. But the reason to get this TV is what it does to HD. It is much better than a lesser quality television and even non HD television viewing is improved because of the technology that causes the TV to try to improve any picture on the screen. We love ours.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've been able to watch 4K content via Netflix, though I had to upgrade my subscription, Youtube, and Amazon. Sony has a media player that allows you to play uncompressed 4K content though it is very expensive. I found it on craigslist for $250 or OBO so you can find deals if you look around. I've also heard that a UHD Blu-Ray players are supposed to hit stores at the end of the year.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That means Sony is false advertising. There are no 4k bluray, no 4k cable, no 4k streaming services that the 850c supports. No wonder there are so many negative reviews for this TV.
