Yes, it is normal. Rtings.com rates the grey uniformity a 5.5 out of 10. Which is Very poor. I returned mine because of it and bought a Samsung JS8500
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both the 65 and 55 for my bedroom. Picture on both is flawless, NO BLEEDING whatsoever NONE. Before these I tried the Samsung Samsung Un55 6500 with jumpy picture and not as clear, the Samsung js8500, nice picture but color was too cartoonish. Bought the XBR 55 850c first. Loved it so bought the bigger 4 our family room. Fabulous clear natural display. Tweaked it very little.Love them both. Return yours if setting changes don't help as I think it's defective.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have not seen any of these issues. I have had mine since November 16, 2015. I use presets sports or live football for watching sports and cinema pro for watching movies though. Not sure if that would make a difference. I do have some glare issues since my room tends to have lights and windows reflecting back.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check the website rtings.com for display settings. That might make a difference for you. I don't have these issues that you describe. These tvs are much more complicated than older ones and have many more settings. Additionally certain settings such as brightness effect different areas of the tv when compared to older models brightness settings. rtings.com was a good place to start when adjusting settings.
