“Use with Sony STR -DG1200 Receiver ?? Will this work using my older Sony STR-DG1200? My current and again older Sony Bravia is connected from HDMI in on the TV to the HDMI out on my receiver. The DirecTv Receiver (DVR) is connected to the HDMI-1 input on my STR-DG1200. Will this unit work and connect the same way?”

Yes, but you will lose out on some features like HDMI ARC and 4k pass through. Not to mention, any 4k devices that you hook up to it will not process the audio/video unless you connect through lower quality audio inputs like optical. So, yes, you can MAKE it work, but you will be sacrificing some a/v quality.
