I ran into the exact same problem, and ended up having to move my soundbar. There's no way that I can see to safely raise the TV. The IR "eye" for this set is dead-center, at the very bottom. This makes it impossible to put any sound bar directly below the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not a problem. I just did the measurements on my set up. Sony TV, on supplied stand, bottom of screen indeed sits 2" above surface of flat topped tv furniture. Sony soundbar that is smack in front of TV, is 2 1/4" height. This is not a problem! Because your eye level will be so much higher than 2" above TV furniture. In fact, sitting on my couch, I see about 1" of SPACE between the top of soundbar and bottom of TV screen. Also, keep in mind that the TV screen has a 3/4" black border, so the real screen portion is actually 2 3/4" above surface of TV furniture. The only problem would be if you are lying on the floor watching the TV, which won't be an issue with the soundbar height, but the fact that you have the tv sitting on any kind of furniture.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One solution would be to get a wall mount. Or you could take the stand to a machine shop and have them hand craft one for you. Chrome it or paint it any color you want to match your décor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would either have to fabricate your own stand, or purchase a hutch to raise the tv higher than it already sits.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We purchased the Sony 2.1-Channel Sound bar with wireless subwoofer and had to to a custom mounting on our TV stand. My husband had to cut wood brackets, stain them to match the stand and then mount them below the TV but above the DVD player and cable box. It was a somewhat disappointing surprise after we got everything home, but it has worked out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I built a plain box for the TV stand to sit on to raise it far enough for the 'eye' to be above my sound bar.
