QuestionDoes my Chromecast need electric power if plugged into the MHL port?Does MHL port supply power to HDMI streaming devices? I have Chromecast, Fire TV and Roku that all require power from electric plug or USB port. Will I need separate power or does the STR DH550 supply it?

QuestionAudioDoes the HMDI output pass video and audio signals to the TV whether the receiver is turned on or off? So the optical digital audio output (SDIF) from the TV is therefore not needed into the SDIF input on the receiver if HDMI is connected?

- Answer I have a new Marantz SR6009. With this system, the HDMI pass through provides a video signal to the TV when the AV is turned off. I would assume all Pass Through systems work the same

QuestionCan my old Sony receiver model number HCD-C450 be replaced with this receiver and can I get the new speaker connects for the back of this one

- Answer If I'm not mistaken the Sony HCD-C450 have 4 ohm speaker impedance and 3 ohms for the subwoofer. If thats the case the recommended ohms for this unit is 6-16 ohms. That said use with caution. maybe if you don't go to high with the volume. Otherwise you might blow the speakers.

- Answer No it does not have Bluetooth functionality. If you are looking for wireless connections to phone or iPad look at the Sony STR-DH750.

QuestionMy Receiver says no stream.i can't get any sound out. I've tried everything to get NO STREAM off. Nothing has worked. Any idea??

- Answer I have the same problem! I bought this unit 2-3 years ago and suddenly two months ago I couldn't get a TV audio connection. Everything that required streaming thru the TV video didn't work....TV, DVD, and the on screen settings menu. I changed the HDMI cable, swapped TVs, and even changed out the receiver board that contained the HDMI receptacle. Nothing helped. Only thing that works now is the radio. Big Deal. Ironically, I bought two of these Sony receivers because they were less than $175.00. The other one still works good. Let me know if you ever figure it out.

QuestionIs this unit HDCP2.2 compliant? Seems as if a lot of these receivers are not going to be able to do 4k and people are not being told.

- Answer Thanks, called Sony support to make sure and they said no it isn't. Called again to make sure and they again said no. This will not support protected 4k content if it is not hdcp2.2 compliant. This should be in big letters in the ad.
